[origin: WO8701888A1] Portable pest repellant apparatus and methods, which is designed to be worn by an animal. A high frequency crystal speaker (15) having a relatively narrow operating band is provided with a signal which is generated by the speaker and, therefore, requires little energy to output sound at its nominal frequency. A pulsing circuit (11) is provided which pulses the output of the speaker (15) in such a manner that pest are equally annoyed and therefore repelled as if the sound was continuous.

Dispositif portatif repoussant les parasites, destiné à être porté par un animal, et procédés d'utilisation. Un transducteur à cristal à haute fréquence (15) possédant une bande de fonctionnement relativement étroite est alimenté avec un signal produit par le transducteur même et ne nécessite, par conséquent, que peu d'énergie pour produire le son à sa fréquence nominale. Un circuit d'impulsions (11) fait pulser le signal de sortie du transducteur (15) de manière à provoquer le même niveau de gêne qu'un son continu pour les parasites afin de les chasser.
