In the preparation of a purified or refined light coal oil having a boiling range of about 60-285 DEG C which is subjected to a catalytic reforming a low-benzene reformed petrol is obtained by dividing the reformer stock flow based on a purified or refined light coal oil by distillation into a fraction boiling above about 85 DEG C which is catalytically reformed and into a fraction boiling up to about 85 DEG C which is purified with the reformate obtained.

Nach der Erfindung wird bei der Herstellung eines gereinigten oder raffinierten Kohleleichtöls mit einem Siedebereich von etwa 60·285C, welches einem katalytischen Reformieren unterworfen wird, ein benzolarmes Reformatbenzin dadurch erreicht, daß der Reformereinsatzstrom auf Basis eines gereinigten oder raffinierten Kohleleichtöls durch Destillation aufgeteilt wird in eine oberhalb etwa 85 C siedende Fraktion, die katalytisch reformiert wird und in eine bis etwa 85 C siedende Fraktion, die mit dem erhaltenen Reformat vereinigt wird.
