A method of operating a cutting wheel device for suction dredgers, in which the cutting wheel provided with cutting hoops is formed from two cutting wheels which lie coaxially next to one another, are firmly connected to one another and have lateral cutting openings, and the suction tube is subdivided into two suction chambers which are separated from one another inside the cutting wheel device by a centre wall and of which one lies in the area of one cutting wheel and the other lies in the area of the other cutting wheel, and each suction chamber, via an opening which can be closed by an adjusting flap, is connected to the suction tube in such a way that either the one or the other suction chamber is attached to the suction tube, the direction of rotation of the cutting wheels in the area of the suction chamber directing the cutting hoops towards the suction opening and past it. <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Schneidradvorrichtung für Saugbagger, bei dem das mit Schneidbügeln versehene Schneidrad aus zwei koaxial nebeneinander liegenden und fest miteinander verbundenen Schneidrädern (1a,1b) mit seitlichen Schneidöffnungen gebildet ist und das Saugrohr in zwei innerhalb der Schneidradvorrichtung durch eine Mittelwand (6) voneinander getrennten Saugkammern aufgeteilt ist, von denen die eine im Bereich des einen Schneidrades und die andere im Bereich des anderen Schneidrades liegt und jede Saugkammer über eine durch eine Stellklappe (7) verschließbare Öffnung mit dem Saugrohr derart verbunden ist, daß entweder die eine oder die andere Saugkammer an das Saugrohr angeschlossen ist, wobei die Drehrichtung der Schneidräder im Bereich der Saugkammer die Schneidbügel auf die Saugöffnung zu und daran vorbeiführt.
