[origin: US4782754A] The monitoring of the ink supply in an ink reservoir occurs by measurement and evaluation of the change in resistance between two electrodes situated in the inside of the ink reservoir, the one electrode being formed by the hollow needle which produces a flow connection between the ink reservoir and ink supply system; the second electrode is formed as a needle and is situated in a wall of the reservoir and is arranged in an insulating ring which is formed by walls of the ink reservoir which are drawn up toward the inside.

Die Überwachung des Tintenvorrats in einem Tintenvorratsbehälter (1) geschieht durch Messung und Auswertung der Widerstandsänderung zwischen zwei sich im Inneren des Tintenvorratsbehälters (1) befindlichen Elektroden (3, 4), von denen die eine durch die Hohlnadel (3) gebildet wird, die eine Fließverbindung zwischen Tintenvorratsbehälter (1) und Tintenversorgungssystem herstellt; die zweite Elektrode (4) befindet sich in einer Wandung des Vorratsbehälters (1) und ist in einem Isolierring (5) angeordnet, der durch nach innen hochgezogenene Wände des Tintenvorratsbehälters (1) gebildet wird.
