Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0236977A2] Vaccines including recombinant vaccines for immunizing animal hosts against togavirus infection such as bovine viral diarrhea and hog cholera viruses are disclosed. The DNA sequences encoding an immunogenic portion of Togavirus protein are used to generate peptide-containing vaccines carried in vaccinia and to design synthetic peptides which produce antibodies that protect hosts from Togavirus invasion together with methods for their production and use are provided.
