[origin: WO8705195A1] The applicator (1), provided with a reservoir (10) and brush (6) is equipped with a metering device (2, 3, 7) for regulating the flowrate and thus the thickness of the layer to be applied. The brush (6) when not being used is surrounded by a sponge (8) immersed in a cleaning liquid (9), so that it does not dry out and is always ready for use. The resin and paint materials, e.g. nail varnish, are always completely enclosed and thus do not come in contact with the surrounding air, with the result that the paint does not undergo any change in colour or viscosity. The reservoir (10) can be refilled either by injecting paint or by inserting a new cartridge.
