[origin: EP0237832A2] The lock has a pinion, which can be actuated by a lock bit, in the form of a slotted ring provided with pinion teeth and has a blocking pinion, there being arranged between the pinion and the blocking pinion further differential pinions, meshing with said pinions, and, if appropriate, gear pinions, connected to the differential pinions, for a permanent positive and/or non-positive coupling of these parts. The differential pinion (1) has recesses (2) which are provided, when the differential gear is actuated, in each case in their positions of rotation, facing the pinion (3), directly opposite the lock bit (5) arranged in the slot (4), by which means space is provided for the lock bit (5) to rotate past. <IMAGE>
