Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0237857A2] A drive device for an isolating switch has a rotatably supported spindle (14) which is coupled in a driven manner to the moving switching piece of the isolating switch such that, on rotation of the spindle (14), the moving switching piece is operated. On the spindle (14) there is mounted a gearwheel (37) which engages with a toothed drive (38) coupled to an electric motor drive, to rotate the spindle and hence to operate the moving switching piece. The spindle (14) is additionally rotatable with a hand-crank (43) as well. To simplify this manual operation and to ensure that the gearwheel (37) is coupled to the toothed drive (38) when the hand-crank (43) is pulled, the gearwheel (37) can be pushed between two positions on the spindle (14), by the hand-crank (43), such that in the first position it engages with the toothed drive (38) and in the second position is released from the toothed drive (38). Between the hand-crank (43) and the spindle (14) there are provided controllable locking elements (46, 49, 50) which release the hand-crank (43) only in the first position of the gearwheel (37), and only then allow the hand-crank (14) to be pulled out. <IMAGE>
