1. Textile sheet material 2.1 At present, textile sheet material is subjected to finishing processes such as mechanical shrinking and the like to confer on it an extensibility or elasticity which makes it possible to press the textile material onto shaped articles. However, the mechanically induced extensibility is frequently insufficient. 2.2 The textile sheet material is fitted out with a synthetic yarn whose filaments exhibit not only a high breaking extension but also a high residual - permanent - extension. 2.3 A two-rail warp-knitted material having 28 stitches per cm combined a total extensibility of 65 % with a residual extension in the longitudinal direction of 41 % and in the transverse direction of 31 %. The material was highly suitable for door linings in automotive construction.

l. Flächiges Textilgut 2.l Derzeit wird flächiges Textilgut während des Ausrüstungsprozesses durch mechanische Krumpfung u. dgl. mit einer Dehnbarkeit bzw. Elastizität versehen, die das Verpressen des Textilgutes auf Formteile möglich macht. Die mechanisch in dem Gut eingebrachte Dehnbarkeit ist jedoch häufig nicht ausreichend. 2.2 Das flächige Textilgut wird mit einem synthetischen Garn ausgerüstet, dessen Filamente sowohl eine hohe Bruchkraftdehnung als auch eine hohe Restdehnung - bleibende Dehnung - aufweisen. 2.3 Eine zweischienige Kettwirkware mit einer Maschenzahl von 28 cm<->¹ wies bei 65 % Gesamtdehnung eine Restdehnung in Längsrichtung von 4l % und in Querrichtung von 3l % auf. Die Ware war für Türverkleidungen im Automobilbau gut geeignet.
