[origin: WO8701758A1] Improved fracturing processes which use novel aqueous hydraulic fracturing fluids. The fluids comprise: (a) an aqueous medium, and (b) a thickening amount of a thickener composition comprising (i) a water-soluble or water-dispersible interpolymer having pendant hydrophobic groups chemically bonded thereto, (ii) a nonionic surfactant having a hydrophobic group(s) that is capable of associating with the hydrophobic groups on said organic polymer, and (iii) a water-soluble electrolyte. Additionally, the fluids preferably contain a stabilizing amount of a thiosulfate salt. As an example, an interpolymer of acrylamide and dodecyl acrylate was used in combination with a nonionic surfactant (HLB of from 10 to 14) to thicken a dilute aqueous solution of KCl and sodium thiosulfate; the aqueous solution had excellent properties for use as a high temperature hydraulic fracturing fluid.

Procédés de fracturation utilisant de nouveaux fluides aqueux de fracturation hydraulique. Lesdits fluides comprennent: (a) un agent aqueux et (b) une quantité d'épaississement d'une composition épaississante comprenant (i) un interpolymère pouvant se dissoudre ou se disperser dans l'eau, auquel des groupes hydrophobiques sont attachés chimiquement, (ii) un agent tensioactif non ionique ayant un/des groupe/s hydrophobique/s, ledit agent tensioactif pouvant s'associer avec lesdits groupes hydrophobiques sur ledit polymère organique, et (iii) un électrolyte soluble dans l'eau. En outre, les fluides contiennent de préférence une quantité de stabilisation d'un sel de thiosulfate. A titre d'exemple, un interpolymère d'acrylamide et d'acrylate de dodécyle a été utilisé en combinaison avec un agent tensioactif non ionique (HLB) compris entre 10 et 14, afin d'épaissir une solution aqueuse diluée de KCl et de thiosulfate de sodium, la solution aqueuse présentant d'excellentes propriétés en tant que fluide de fracturation hydraulique à haute température.
