Adjustable chair whose tilting from a work position to a relaxation position corresponds as far as possible to the natural movements of the spine of the user. The chair comprises a seat (14) and a back (16), the latter consisting of several band sections (16a, 16b) articulated together and defining, in the work position, a certain convexity in the lumbar region of the user and the band-section assembly is connected to a dorsal frame (26) which, when tilted, produces at least an alignment of the band sections, that is to say elimination of the convexity in the lumbar region as the seat tilts into a relaxation position. Siège articulé dont le basculement d'une position de travail à une position de relaxation correspond au mieux aux déformations naturelles de la colonne vertébrale de l'utilisateur. Selon l'invention, le siège comporte une assise (14) et un dossier (16), ce dernier étant constitué de plusieurs bandeaux (16a, 16b) articulés les uns aux autres et définissant, en position de travail, une certaine convexité au niveau de la région lombaire de l'utilisateur et l'ensemble des bandeaux est relié à une armature dorsale (26) dont le basculement réalise au moins un alignement des bandeaux, c'est-à-dire une suppression de la convexité lombaire au fur et à mesure que le siège bascule en position de relaxation. Application aux sièges de bureau.
