Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0240728A1] 1. A pipe separating device having a flow opening (11) and a venting opening (12) and two closure elements (5, 50; 53; 55) which are associated with these openings and are joined together such that the flow opening or the venting opening is closed or opened selectively, the device also having a driving piston (60, 60') which forms a boundary of a driving chamber (I) communicating with the inlet side of the pipe separating device and by means of which the closure elements are brought into the flow position by the specific medium, and a restoring spring (61) which returns the closure elements into the venting position, characterised in that the restoring spring (61) rests on a second driving piston (68, 68', 63) which, together with the side remote from the restoring spring (61), forms a boundary of a second driving chamber (II) which can be connected selectively to the inlet side (20) of the pipe separating device or to a discharge pipe (81) via a control valve (80), and the effective area of the second driving piston (68, 68', 63) is greater than the effective area (600) of the driving piston (60, 60') by means of which the closure elements (5, 50; 53; 55) are brought into a flow position.
