In order to be able to adjust precisely the impedance value of the ballast coil, without compressing an air gap insert, at least one air gap (11) is present in the closing circuit of the magnetic force lines, in the region of which air gap (11) the core parts (1, 2) are connected to one another in a positive-locking manner and such that they can be adjusted, by means of at least one narrow tongue (8) which crosses over this air gap and engages in a slot (7) on the opposite core part. <IMAGE>
