Hand burner for flame-treating surfaces, with a supply device for a fuel gas/air mixture. At the end of a mixing pipe, a burner head (1) with a nozzle member (2) is arranged, in which there is a nozzle (5) for the outlet of the fuel gas/air mixture and to which is fastened a combustion chamber (4) which extends in the direction of flow and has a casing (3). The chamber has at least one opening (11) for the entry of ambient air. To achieve the aim of obtaining a stable flame and avoiding the casing heating up, the at least one air entry opening (11) is delimited towards the outside by the casing (3) of the combustion chamber (4). The opening (11) extends over the greater part of the circumference of the casing (3) in the region of the openings (11) and more particularly in such a manner that the ambient air is guided in immediate proximity and essentially parallel to the respectively adjacent generating line of the casing (3). <IMAGE>

Handbrenner zum Flämmen von Oberflächen mit einer Zuführeinrichtung für ein Brenngas-Lufe-Gemisch. Am Ende eines Mischrohrs ist ein Brennerkopf (1) mit einem Düsenkörper (2) angeordnet, in dem sich eine Düse (5) für den Austritt des Brenngas-Luft-Gemischs befindet und an dem eine sich in Strömungsrichtung erstreckende, einen Mantel (3) aufweisende Brennkammer (4) befestigt ist. Diese weist mindestens eine Öffnung (11) zum Eintritt von Umgebungsluft auf. Zur Lösung der Aufgabe, eine stabile Flamme zu erzielen und eine Aufheizung des Mantels zu vermeiden ist die mindestens eine Luft-Eintrittsöffnung (11) nach außen hin vom Mantel (3) der Brennkammer (4) begrenzt. Die Öffnung (11) erstreckt sich über den größten Teil des Umfangs des Mantels (3) im Bereich der Öffnungen (11), und zwar derart, daß die Umgebungsluft in unmittelbarer Nähe und im wesentlichen parallel zu der jeweils benachbarten Mantellinie des Mantels (3) geführt wird.
