[origin: US4745332A] Control plates in flat picture-reproducing devices are located between the cathode and the screen and serve to control the electron flow. Control plates are formed of layers of metal conductors having overlying openings. The width of the openings decreases with depth from both surfaces of the conductors. The openings can be formed by pairs of juxtaposed recesses formed in the sides of adjacent conductors.

Steuerscheiben in flachen Bildwiedergabevorrichtungen sind zwischen der Kathode und dem Leuchtschirm angeordnet und dienen zur Steuerung des Elektronenstromes. Bei der neuen Steuerscheibe aus Lagen sich kreuzender metallischer Leiter (1, 11) ist vorgesehen, daß die Öffnungen (2, 22) in den Leitern einen sich verengenden Querschnitt haben. Die Öffnungen können so angeordnet sein, daß sie jeweils benachbarte Leiter anschneiden.
