Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Verschließen von Behältern mit einer Deckelfolie. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren und mit einer erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung werden die Behälter zwischen oberhalb und unterhalb der Transportbandebene rotierenden Rotationssystemen (4, 5), die die Verschließwerkzeuge (334, 337, 338, 450, 456) tragen, ohne vertikale Lagenveränderung und ohne Stillstand hindurchgefördert und mit Deckeln verschlossen.
