1. Centreboard for a surfboard which is mounted for a swinging movement about an axis (12) within a centreboard case (8) between a substantially vertical position and a clapped-in position in the centreboard case (8) and which is adjustable from the deck side by a foot operating device, which consists of a slide (3) guided in rails (4, 5) displaceable in parallel relationship to the longitudinal centre axis of the surfboard (1) and connected with the centreboard (11) by a crank (13), one end (14) of which being mounted for a swinging movement about a first pivot axis (15) at the slide (3) and the other end (16) of which pivotably mounted about a second pivot axis (17) at the centreboard (11) spaced from the axis (12) of the centreboard (11), characterized in that in the completely clapped-in position of the centreboard (11), which corresponds to the foremost position of the slide (3), the second pivot axis (17) of the crank (13) is positioned in a plane (18) forming right angles with the rails (4, 5), while the first pivot axis (15) having just exceeded the dead centre position of the crank (13) in this rectangular plane (18).

Ein deckseitig am Segelbrett (1) verschiebbarer Schlitten (3) ist über einen Schubhebel (13) mit einem Schwert (11) gelenkig verbunden. Der Schubhebel (13) liegt bei voll ausgefahrenem Schwert (11) unter einem geringen Winkel zum Deck geneigt und verändert seine Lage beim Einklappen des Schwertes (11) über eine rechtwinklige Stellung (Linie 18) zum Deck hinaus bis in eine Endstellung , in der der Totpunkt überschritten ist, womit das Schwert (11) in der eingeklappten Stellung arretiert ist.
