1. A radial fan in particular for the air conditioning of a motor vehicle, comprising a volute housing (10) in which there is arranged a helical ventilation wheel (11) connected to driving means (12), the said helical wheel comprising a series of vanes (13; 20) each having a radially outer edge (13a) and a radially inner edge (13b; 20a) and extending in a direction approximately parallel to the axis of rotation (X-X) of the said helical wheel, from a bowl (14; 19) connecting these vanes to the driving means (12), to an edge (15) of an air intake (16) on the housing (10), this edge defining, with the bowl, a space for a fluid stream, the outer edges of the vanes defining a circle of diameter D, and the inner edges of the vanes defining a circle of diameter d, this bowl (14) and this edge (15) of the air intake on the housing, at least as far as the inner edges of the vanes, each having a surface of their own, and these surfaces being provided opposite each other and being generated by the rotation of sections of curves about the said axis of rotation (X-X), characterised in that the traces of these surfaces on a meridian plane passing through the axis of rotation (X-X) are parallel curves.
