[origin: US4796337A] The device comprises a toothed strap with saw teeth (4), which is fixed, at one of its ends, to the boot (1) and carries a sliding U-piece (7) on which a ratchet (8) cooperating with the toothed strap is pivotably mounted. Above these teeth (10), the ratchet has a groove (11) inside which the bar (11) of a buckle (14) integral with another part of the boot is engaged. The U-piece is provided with two hook-shaped recesses located opposite the groove (11). The hinging pin (15) of the buckle, which at the same time acts as a tensioning lever, engages inside a groove (13). The ratchet pin is subject to a small degree of strain and accidental opening of the buckle due to pressure on the end of the latter is prevented.

Le dispositif comprend une courroie dentée à dents de loup (4) fixée par une de ses extrémités à la chaussure (1) et portant un étrier coulissant (7) sur lequel est pivoté un cliquet (8) coopérant avec la courroie dentée. Au dessus de ces dents (10) le cliquet présente une gorge (11) dans laquelle vient s'accrocher la barrette (11) d'une boucle (14) solidaire d'une autre partie de la chaussure. L'étrier est muni de deux découpes en face de la gorge (11) et en forme de crochet. L'axe d'articulation (15) de la boucle, qui constitue simultanément un levier-tendeur, s'engage dans une gorge (13). L'axe du cliquet est peu sollicité et un décrochement intempestif de la boucle dû à une pression sur l'extrémité de celle-ci est empêché.
