Provided in the external cylindrical grinding machine is a rocker on which the grinding wheel is mounted and which is adjusted by a threaded spindle which is driven by a stepping motor or a digital motor. The infeed of the grinding wheel, i.e. the adjustment of the rocker, is controlled by a computer in accordance with the axial travel of the rocker or of the tool slide as a function of the oblique position of the roller to be ground with regard to the axial travel of the rocker or the tool slide. <IMAGE>

Bei der Außenrundschleifmaschine ist eine Wippe (16) vorgesehen, auf der die Schleifscheibe (15) gelagert ist und die verstellt wird durch eine Gewindespindel (37), die angetrieben wird durch einen Schrittmotor (40) oder einen Digitalmotor. Die Zustellung der Schleifscheibe (15), d.h. die Verstellung der Wippe (16) wird entsprechend dem Axialverfahrweg der Wippe bzw. des Werkzeugschlittens geregelt von einem Rechner, abhängig von der Schiefstellung der zu schleifenden Walze in bezug auf den axialen Verfahrweg der Wippe bzw. des Werkzeugschlittens.
