[origin: WO8603961A1] An intraocular lens (2) with which the natural lens of the eye (1) is replaced in connection with, for example, a cataract operation. By using a bifocal intraocular lens which has advantageously two different focal distances (8, 9), two images are produced on the retina (3), one of the images being sharp at close distance (7, 7') and the other being sharp at long distance (6, 6'). The brain emphasizes the desired image.

Une lentille intra-oculaire (2) remplace le cristallin naturel de l'oeil (1), suite à une opération de la cataracte, par exemple. L'utilisation d'une lentille intra-oculaire bifocale qui a l'avantage de posséder deux distances focales différentes (8, 9) permet la formation de deux images sur le rétine (3), une image nette à des distances rapprochées (7, 7') et une image nette à des distances éloignées (6, 6'). Le cerveau met en évidence l'image voulue.
