[origin: WO8702642A1] A deployment-retraction apparatus (10) for an air turbine (12) of an aircraft movable from a stowed inoperative position within the aircraft to an extended operable position externally of and in the airstream of the aircraft, and being retractable from the extended position to the stowed position. A piston and cylinder device (30, 32) is used to extend and retract the turbine. The piston is moved to an extended position by a high force mechanical compression spring (34). The piston is moved to a retracted position by applying fluid pressure (82) in opposition to the compression spring. A mechanical latch and release mechanism (42) is operatively associated with the piston for holding the piston in retracted condition and releasing the piston upon initiation of an electrical signal (68). The fluid pressure to retract the piston is applied in response to initiating an electrical signal (78). The fluid pressure also retracts a downlock pin (72) which holds the piston in its extended position.

L'appareil de déploiement-rétraction (10) ci-décrit est destiné à un turbo-propulseur (12) d'un aéronef pour déplacer le turbo-propulseur d'une position rétractée de non-fonctionnement à l'intérieur de l'aéronef vers une position déployée de fonctionnement à l'extérieur de l'aéronef et dans le flux d'air de l'aéronef, et est rétractable de la position déployée vers la position rétractée. Un dispositif à piston et cylindre (30, 32) est utilisé pour déployer et rétracter la turbine à air ou turbo-propulseur. Le piston est déplacé vers une position allongée par un ressort de compression mécanique de grande force (34). Le piston est déplacé vers une position rétractée en appliquant une pression d'un fluide (82) en opposition au ressort de compression. Un mécanisme de verrouillage et libération (42) est associé de manière effective au piston pour maintenir ce dernier dans l'état rétracté et libérer le piston lors du déclenchement d'un signal électrique (68).
