[origin: EP0243597A2] 1. A device for varying the final regulating characteristic of the regulator of an injection pump, commencing at the rated rotary speed, on a diesel internal combustion engine which drives a vehicle and as a function of vehicle-specific parameters such as for example the vehicle speed, wherein the parameters are ascertained by measuring sensors and are fed to the regulator as a correcting value signal which corresponds to the parameters, characterised in that as a further characteristic the load on the vehicle is ascertained by a measuring sensor (9) the correcting value signal of which so controls the regulator (5) that for a loaded vehicle the final regulating characteristic merges from a first minimally falling portion (I) into a second steeply falling portion (II) and in that starting from the rated rotary speed with the vehicle (2) unladen, increasing loading results in the transition zone (UB) from the first portion to the second being shifted in the direction of higher rotary speeds of the internal combustion engine.
