[origin: EP0243640A2] The commutator consists of a supporting bush (10) onto which is pulled a rim of commutator laminates (12), by means of dovetail-like mounting devices (18, 20, 26, 28, 30). A residual gap (32) between the supporting bush (10) and the laminate rim is filled with sealing compound (34). A gripping dovetail arrangement is used which fixes the commutator laminates (12) radially to the supporting bush (10) such that they cannot be lost. In an assembly area, dovetail webs (18) in the supporting bush (10) are provided with notches (36) which allow pivoting of a commutator laminate (12) arranged obliquely with respect to the centre axis (14). The commutator laminates (12) are pulled in the circumferential direction onto the supporting bush (10) and are aligned in the axial direction as a complete rim. <IMAGE>
