A ladder arrangement (1) comprising extendable ladder parts (2, 3), especially a fire ladder, the individual ladder parts (2, 3) having bottom elongate members (4) and top elongate members (5), permanently interconnected by struts (6), characterised in that the first ladder part (2), i.e. the top or front part when the arrangement (1) is extended, is given the cross-section of a closed lattice girder, rungs (7) being secured to the top elongate member (5) of the first ladder part (2), and the top elongate member (5) of the first ladder part (2) has at least one lateral, preferably upwardly pivotable, peripheral elongate member (10) serving as a handrail.
