1. A lifting device, in particular for handling and opening containers comprising two shells (28) the top walls of which are linked through a hinge (29) and carry a grip iron fitting (30), said device being of the type comprising two jaws (1, 2) which are linked together and means (18) for moving the two jaws (1, 2) between an open position where they are spaced apart, and a closed position where they are engageable with the grip iron fitting (30) when extending on either side thereof, characterized in that it further comprises two levers (4, 5) articulated on one jaw (1, 2) respectively, a finger (6, 7) provided on each lever (4, 5), said fingers (6, 7) being operable to cooperate with retainers (31) provided on the shells, on either side of the grip iron fitting (30), and control means (8, 9) for pivoting the levers (4, 5) in order to open the container by urging the fingers (6, 7) against the retainers (31) when the jaws (1, 2) are in their closed position.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de levage, notamment pour la manutention et l'ouverture de conteneurs comportant deux coquilles (28) dont les parois supérieures sont reliées par une charnière (29) et portent une ferrure de préhension (30). Ce dispositif, qui comprend deux mâchoires (1, 2) articulées l'une par rapport à l'autre et des moyens (18) pour déplacer les deux mâchoires (1, 2) entre une position ouverte dans laquelle elles sont éloignées l'une de l'autre et une position fermée dans laquelle elles sont susceptibles de venir en prise avec la ferrure de préhension (30), est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend en outre au moins un levier (4, 5) articulé sur l'une des mâchoires (1, 2), un doigt (6, 7) prévu sur le levier (4, 5) et apte à coopérer avec un organe de retenue (31) prévu sur l'une des coquilles (28), et un moyen de commande (8, 9) destiné à faire pivoter le levier (4, 5) afin d'ouvrir le conteneur en sollicitant le doigt (6, 7) contre l'organe de retenue (31) lorsque les mâchoires (1, 2) sont dans leur position fermée. La presente invention concerne également un conteneur comprenant au moins un organe de retenue conformé pour coopérer avec le dispositif de levage.
