Le fourrage est ramassé par un pick-up (24) puis transporté par l'ameneur (3) dans le canal d'alimentation (4), sortant par l'orifice (5) qui est repris par le compresseur (6) grâce à un mouvement alternatif et latéral dans le canal (7). Le fourrage est précompressé par le compresseur (6) grâce à la transmission attachée au tracteur (8) qui entraîne un boîtier de renvoi (9) suivi d'un vilebrequin (10) commandant le compresseur (6) synchronisé avec l'ameneur (3). Application: presse à balles.
