[origin: EP0244668A2] A ladder arrangement (1), particularly a fire ladder, possesses extendable ladder sections (2) which are arranged one inside the other and are, in principle, of identical design in terms of cross-section. Each lower chord (4) or longitudinal rail of a ladder section (2) is here represented, in terms of cross-section, in its entirety as a closed body with a plurality of closed individual cavities, as a result of which highly stressed marginal zones, which are most exposed to the risk of breaking, are avoided. A longitudinal rail welded in a sealing manner affords the best corrosion protection.
