Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0244863A1] A rod-shaped device for applying liquid or pasty materials, consisting of a casing (1) containing the material, one or several outlet orifices provided at the top end of the casing for the material and one rotary knob (6) arranged at the bottom end of the casing, with which knob a non-rotatable piston (3), located in the casing (1), can be moved towards the top end of the casing by means of a rod (4). With the aid of an engagement means (12, 13) which can be overrun, located between the casing and the rotary knob, it is possible to dispense a specific quantity of material at each rotation or fraction thereof. A particularly simple embodiment of the device can be achieved if, between the rotary knob and the piston-carrying rod a hollow cylindrical neck section (7) is provided, the diameter of which is smaller than the rotary knob (6) but larger than the rod (4), and if a ring (8) is so arranged on the neck section (7) that the latter can indeed be rotated, but not moved axially, and if the ring (8) is linked to the casing (1) so as not to rotate, and the engagement means (12, 13) are operative between the ring (8) on the one hand and the neck section (7) on the other. A plug (14) which can be inserted into the end of the rotary knob ensures that the clamping of the ring (8) in the casing (1) is reinforced and that the recoil of the engagement lug (12) is limited.
