[origin: WO8703077A1] An apparatus and process for rapidly removing organic components from films. The apparatus comprises a heating chamber (13) having one or more heating elements (68). A pair of spaced-apart electrodes (76, 11) are provided for establishing an electric field in the heating chamber. The process comprises heating the film in the presence of the electric field to a temperature sufficient to cause the removal of organic components from the film.
