[origin: DE3616725A1] Anodic oxidation of aluminium alloy products in an electrolyte produces uniform grey, light-fast surfaces having a light reflectivity of at most 50%, if an alloy consisting of 1.20 to 1.60% of iron and 0.25 to 0.55% of manganese, the Fe/Mn weight ratio being between 2.8 and 5, and of up to 0.20% of silicon, of up to 0.30% of copper, up to 5% of magnesium, up to 0.10% of chromium, up to 2% of zinc, up to 0.25% of zirconium and up to 0.10% of titanium, the remainder being aluminium and up to 0.50% of other elements in total is used and if, during the processing of the alloy from casting to the product, all treatment temperatures are held below 560 DEG C, and the residence time in the temperature range between 540 and 560 DEG C is at most 4 hours.
