Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0246431A2] 1. A stay mechanism (9) for tilting panels (3), more particularly turn-tilt or slide-tilt panels, of windows or doors (1) or the like, the mechanism comprising : a stay arm (10) engging the fixed frame (2) at one end and the moving panel (3) at the other and being lockable with the panel (3) in the closed position thereof parallel to the panel plane and to the plane of the fixed frame (2), the stay arm (10) moving upon tilt opening of the panel (3) into an inclined position between the same and the fixed frame (2) ; and an additional arm (12) articulated at one end to the panel (3) and at the other end to the stay arm (10), the locking device (15) comprising at least one sliding member (23, 24) adjustable on the panel (3), for example, by way of a drive bar (16a), parallel to the panel plane and at least one abutment (26, 27) fixedly disposed on the stay arm (10) and having draw-on bevels (23a, 24a; 26a, 27a) engageable with one another at a predetermined inclined position of the stay arm (10) relatively to the panel (3), such position including a reduced stay angle of, for example, 3 degrees to 5 degrees, characterised in that merely one spring element (28) is associated with the stay arm and/or the additional arm (12) at a distance from the place (11, 20 and 14) of engagement thereof on the panel side on the longitudinal edge near the panel (3) or the panel lip (3a) and such spring element (28) endeavours to support or retain the stay arm (10) and/or additional arm (12) relatively to the panel (3) or panel lip (3a) in the inclined position in which the bevels (23a, 24a) of the members (23, 24) and the bevels (26a, 27a) of the abutments (26, 27) of the locking device are already movable into engagement with one another (Figs. 2 and 3).
