Building element having two side walls arranged parallel to each other and composed of expanded materials, in particular plastics, especially polystyrene, and also metallic plate-shaped webs connecting the side walls to each other and anchored in the side walls by means of projections extending substantially perpendicularly to the plane of the plate. The object is to increase the bending strength of the building elements, the side walls of which are connected by means of metallic webs.
