[origin: US4790768A] An immersible electrical coupling includes a fixed connector (2) mounted on the wall (1) of a device, and a cable terminal (6) engaged with the connector. An outer molding of synthetic resin (33) surrounds tubular metal components (16, 12, 8, 10, 9) of the terminal, and a concentric inner molding 32 isolates the outer and inner sheaths (13, 17) of the cable (7). Within the terminal (6), the insulated conductors (19) which emerge from the end of the cable are spaced from one another, and traverse an insulating sealing plug (20) inserted in a watertight manner inside the tubular metal components (8, 9).

Ce Connecteur électrique comprenant une embase (2) destinée à être fixée sur la paroi (1) d'un appareil et une tête de câble électrique (6) qui est prévue pour s'engager dans cette embase et qui comporte deux surmoulages en résine synthétique (32, 33) réalisés entre une structure métallique tubulaire (16, 12, 8 10, 9) de cette tête de câble et respectivement une gaine extérieure (13) et une gaine intérieure (17) d'un câble (7), se caractérise en ce que, dans cette tête de câble (6), les conducteurs isolés (19) sortant du câble sont écartés les uns des autres et traversent de manière étanche un bouchon isolant (20) inséré de manière étanche dans la structure métallique tubulaire (8,9), des joints annulaires (21, 28, 29, 30) pouvant compléter avantageusement l'étanchéité.Ce connecteur peut être immergé pendant une très longue durée dans une étendue d'eau exerçant une importante surpression à l'extérieur du connecteur.
