[origin: US4748603A] The watch comprises a conventional timepiece movement driving the hours-hands, the minutes-hands and the seconds-hands, to which is added a chronograph module the frame of which, having the shape of a bell, covers the movement of the timepiece. The chronograph is autonomous, i.e. its indicators are not driven by the basis movement but by electric motors situated around the central movement, fed by a battery and piloted by a quartz oscillator, the frequency divisions being effected by an integrated circuit. The printed circuit associated with this whole comprises an annular plate surrounding the timepiece movement. An intermediary plate ensures the connection between the timepiece movement and the chronograph module. The transformation of a conventional timepiece movement into a chronograph watch is thus very easy, the chronograph module being able to be applied to very different timepiece movements, only the intermediary plate having to be different.

La montre comprend un mouvement d'horlo­gerie usuel (2) entraînant les aiguilles d'heures, de minutes et de secondes, auquel est adjoint un mo­dule de chronographe dont le bâti, en forme de cloche, coiffe le mouvement (2). Ce chronographe est autonome, en ce sens que ses organes indicateurs ne sont pas en­traînés par le mouvement de base (2) mais par des mo­teurs électriques (23, 24 et 25) situés autour du mou­vement central (2), alimentés par une pile (27) et pilotés par un oscillateur à quartz (26), la division de fréquence étant assurée par un circuit intégré (28). Le circuit imprimé associé à cet ensemble comporte une plaque annulaire (29) entourant le mouvement d'horloge­rie (2). Une plaque intermédiaire assure la liaison en­tre le mouvement (2) et le module de chronographe. La transformation d'un mouvement d'horlogerie ordinaire en une pièce à chronographe est ainsi des plus aisées, le module de chronographe pouvant s'appliquer à des mouve­ments d'horlogerie les plus divers, seule la plaque in­termédiaire étant différente.
