[origin: EP0248345A2] The apparatus (1) for applying fluid agents by means of bristles (8), such as brushes or the like, consists of a bristle bearer (6) with a hollow space (13) for accommodating the agent and at least one opening (6') for discharging the latter and at least one bristle bundle (8) which is attached to the bristle bearer (6), surrounding the opening (6') and, in continuation of the opening, forms a retaining chamber (10) for the agent. In order to be able to receive a certain quantity of the agent with the application apparatus, provision is made for the hollow space to have a displacement body (13) and to be able to be filled and emptied through the bristles (8) by actuating the displacement body (13) whereas the application of the agent primarily takes place due to the pressure on the bristles (8), the agent being discharged from the retaining chamber (10) and flowing automatically from the hollow space (7) into the retaining chamber (10). <IMAGE>
