[origin: US4747513A] A device forming a heat insulating wall structure for a fluid-tight tank and comprising an interposed joint packing including on each one of its sides at least one lateral joint consisting of a flexible and expansible heat insulating material accommodated within a corresponding recess of the packing body and connected to the latter, which joint after said packing has been mounted between two adjacent panels is in free pressed bearing engagement with the neighbouring panel.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif formant structure de paroi thermiquement isolante d'un réservoir calorifuge étanche de fluide.Le dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une garniture de joint intercalaire (5) comprenant, à chacun de ses côtés, au moins un joint latéral (18), constitué d'un matériau thermiquement isolant souple et expansible, logé dans un évidement correspondant (19) du corps de garniture (5) et lié à celui-ci, lequel joint (18), après montage de la garniture entre deux panneaux adjacents (9), est en appui pressé libre contre le panneau voisin.L'invention est applicable à la construction de réservoirs en particulier pour un gaz naturel liquéfié.
