[origin: WO8700788A1] An apparatus and method for assembly and disassembly of interchangeable surgical acoustic members includes a fixture (50) for securing by a key a handpiece to which a tip and/or extender is attached. A torquing wrench (70) has a tightening head (73) and an untightening head (74) on the same body (71) wherein the tightening head (73) permits torquing of the tip and/or extender to a predetermined tightening torque in cooperation with a socket (92, 93) having a central bore (92a, 93a) therethrough so that the wrench (70) and socket (92, 93) may be slid over an axially elongated combination and used at a point intermediate along the length thereof. In use, the handpiece is secured in the handpiece fixture (50) and receives the tip and/or extender in handtightened condition to be torqued to a predetermined limit by the torquing wrench (70) while secured against rotation in the handpiece fixture (50). A table support structure (102) for supporting a handpiece fixture for an alternative operation is also disclosed.

Appareil et procédé pour l'assemblage et le démontage d'éléments acoustiques chirurgicaux interchangeables comportant une fixation (50) permettant de monter, à l'aide d'une clé, une poignée à laquelle est fixée une pièce d'extrémité et/ou une rallonge. Une clé dynamométrique (70) comporte une tête de serrage (73) et une tête de desserrage (74) sur le même corps (71), la tête de serrage (73) permettant le serrage à un couple prédéterminé de la pièce d'extrémité et/ou de la rallonge en coopération avec une douille (92, 93) pourvue d'un alésage central (92a, 93b), de manière que la clé (70) et la douille (92, 93) puissent glisser sur une combinaison axialement allongée et être utilisées en un point intermédiaire sur la longueur de celle-ci. Pour l'utilisation, on monte la poignée sur sa fixation (50) et on y place l'extrémité et/ou la rallonge, serrées manuellement. Ensuite, elles sont serrées à une valeur limite prédéterminée au moyen de la clé dynamométrique (70), tout en étant empêchées de tourner dans la fixation de la poignée (50). On décrit également une structure de support de table (102) pour maintenir une fixation de poignée pour un autre fonctionnement.
