The electrical remote control (2) for positioning on a support surface has a housing (4) and an actuating device (6) which can be actuated by a straight-line horizontal actuation movement and is mechanically coupled to at least one variable electrical component in the housing. In one embodiment of the remote control, the actuating device (6) protrudes over the circumference of the housing (4) on the side facing the support surface, and the housing (4) has a non-circular cross section, in which arrangement the actuating device (6) can be actuated by the movement of the remote control in the direction of its actuating movement. The actuating device in this arrangement comprises a belt (6) extending around the housing or wheels on the housing. In an alternative embodiment of the remote control, the housing is stationarily arranged on the support surface and the actuating device comprises a belt which runs around the housing in the direction of the actuating movement and is supported to be movable with respect to the housing, the actuation being effected by moving the belt with respect to the housing. <IMAGE>

Das elektrische Fernbedienungsgerät (2) zur Positionierung auf einer Auflagefläche hat ein Gehäuse (4) und eine Betätigungseinrichtung (6), die durch eine geradlinige, horizontale Betätigungsbewegung betätigbar und mechanisch mit wenigstens einem variablen elektrischen Bauelement in dem Gehäuse gekoppelt ist. Bei einer Ausführungsform des Fernsteuergerätes ragt die Betätigungseinrichtung (6) über den Umfang des Gehäuses (4) auf der der Auflagefläche zugewandten Seite hinaus, und das Gehäuse (4) hat einen nicht-kreisförmigen Querschnitt, wobei die Betätigungseinrichtung (6) durch die Bewegung des Fernbedienungsgerätes in Richtung ihrer Betätigungsbewegung betätigbar ist. Die Betätigungseinrichtung umfaßt dabei einen um das Gehäuse verlaufenden Gürtel (6) oder Räder an dem Gehäuse. In einer alternativen Ausführungsform der Fernsteuergerätes wird das Gehäuse ortsfest auf der Auflagefläche angeordnet, und die Betätigungseinrichtung umfaßt einen Gürtel, der in Richtung der Betätigungsbewegung um das Gehäuse läuft und gegenüber dem Gehäuse beweglich gelagert ist, wobei die Betätigung durch Bewegung des Gürtels gegenüber dem Gehäuse erfolgt.
