[origin: US4779723A] A pack consisting of a shell (10) and a slide (11) and intended for receiving cigarettes (cigarette blocks 12, 13) has an octagonal cross-section of the shell (10), with longitudinal edges (27) which each consist of two individual edges (28and 29) joined to one another by means of a strip of material (30) going across the angle. As a result, side tabs (16, 17) of the slide (11) have less width, and there is a corresponding saving of material.

Eine aus Hülse (10) und Schieber (11) bestehende Packung zur Aufnahme von Zigaretten (Zigarettenblöcke 12, 13) ist im Querschnitt der Hülse (10) achteckig ausgebildet mit Längskanten (27), die aus jeweils zwei durch einen über Eck gerichteten Materialstreifen (30) miteinander verbunddenen Einzelkanten (28 und 29) bestehen. Dadurch ergibt sich eine geringere Breite von Seitenlappen (16, 17) des Schiebers (11) unter entsprechender Materialeinsparung.
