[origin: EP0248941A2] In order to permit economical use of such a pair of shoes, as Figure 2 illustrates best, the heel pieces 2 are frictionally fitted by embedded or integrally attached pins into corresponding blind holes 5 of the heel 3, mirror-symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of the heel. After wear has occurred on one side under a pair of shoes, the heel pieces can be detached by the user himself, changed over and fitted on again, so that their unworn areas can now be worn down. <IMAGE>
