[origin: EP0249486A1] A decal support sheet comprises a paper base (1) having a porous surface (2), and a plastic film (3) is atop this surface. No release layer is interposed between the paper sheet base (1) and the plastic film (3) which is applied to the paper base (1) so that it adheres well to the porous surface of the paper and adopts its texture but does not penetrate it. The decal image (9) is applied to the plastic film (3). When the decal is soaked in water the adhesion between the paper base (1) and plastic film (3) is substantially released but they can withstand substantial horizontal forces without separating.
