[origin: US4765562A] This invention relates to a device (mandrel) serving as element for maintaining a cylindrical support tube around which yarn is wound. It is constituted by two elementary sleeves, mounted opposite each other on the drive shaft, said sleeves comprising peripheral fingers regularly spaced with respect to one another, the fingers of one sleeve abutting against the surface included between the fingers of the other sleeve. At least one of the elementary sleeves is mounted free in translation on the drive shaft and thrust means tend to maintain the two sleeves in spaced apart relationship with respect to each other, with the result that the ends of the fingers tend to move radially outward with respect to the axis of the mandrel and to firmly fix the cylindrical support tube disposed therearound.

Dispositif (mandrin) destiné à servir d'élément de maintien à un tube support cylindrique autour duquel est enroulé du fil.Il est constitué de deux manchons élémentaires (5a, 5b) montés en regard l'un de l'autre sur l'arbre d'entraînement (4), lesdits manchons comportant des doigts périphériques (9a, 9b), espacés régulièrement les uns des autres, les doigts d'un manchon prenant appui contre la surface comprise entre les doigts de l'autre manchon. Au moins l'un des manchons élémentaires est monté libre en translation sur l'arbre d'entraînement (4) et des moyens de poussée tendent à maintenir les deux manchons écartés l'un de l'autre, de telle sorte que les extrémités des doigts (9a,9b) tendent à s'écarter par rapport à l'axe dudit mandrin et à bloquer le tube support cylindrique disposé autour de lui.
