[origin: US4781225A] A weft yarn store for a loom includes a stationary drum (24), a winding arm (3) for winding weft yarn (20) on to the periphery of the drum, and a separating device (11) which separates groups of yarn turns (21, 22) from one another. A clamping facility at the weft yarn departure end of the drum (24) determines the release of a length of yarn for picking into the loom. The clamping action is accomplished by such a lever (14) mounted within the drum and working against an element (15a) mounted outside the drum (24). The outer clamping element is resiliently mounted in a retaining element (16) which secures the drum (24) against rotation. The clamping facility (14, 15a) enables the weft yarn to be retained gently in a reduced space.

In einem Schussfadenspeicher für eine Webmaschine mit stillstehender Trommel (24) und mit einem Wickelarm (3) zum Aufwickeln von Schussgarn (20) auf den Umfang der Trommel werden Lagen von Fadenwindungen (21, 22) durch eine Separiereinrichtung (11) voneinander getrennt. Die Freigabe einer Fadenlage für den Eintrag in die Webmaschine wird durch eine Klemmeinrichtung am ablaufseitigen Ende der Trommel (24) bestimmt, welche aus einem Hebel (14) und einem Auflagestück (15a) ausserhalb der Trommel (24) gebildet wird. Das Auflagestück ist federnd in einem Haltestück (16) gelagert, dass die Trommel (24) gegen Verdrehung sichert. Die Klemmeinrichtung (14, 15a) ermöglicht bei kleinem Bauraum ein schonendes Festhalten des Schussfadens.
