Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0250390A2] In a device for separating air, in particular using a low-temperature rectification process, in which the air is condensed, cooled and expanded and/or cleaned with molecular sieves (10) and oxygen and nitrogen, as well as possibly noble gases, are discharged separately via product gas lines, there is connected to a product gas line (30) at least one branch line (31), which is led via a heat exchanger (9). Furthermore, at least two accumulators (7, 12) are provided for two different liquefied gases, and the product branched off from the product gas line (30) is liquefied by cooling and stored, the cooling taking place in the heat exchanger (9) by means of the respectively other liquefied gas, and at least one return line (32) being provided between an accumulator (7) for liquefied product gas and the product gas line (30), as a result of which the advantages of alternating accumulator operation can be achieved. Preferably, a branch line (33) of the product gas line (30) is led via an expansion turbine (18). <IMAGE>
