[origin: EP0250809A2] This front jaw consists of a support body, on which two bent levers are mounted so as to be swivellable on vertical axles, and of a sole holder which is arranged so as to be adjustable on a vertical threaded bolt, the bottom end of which is mounted in the support body and the top end of which is mounted in a further bent lever, all three bent levers being under the influence of a single compression spring which is penetrated by a drawbar which bears a support plate. In order to be able to alter the transmission ratio in this front jaw, with which the force exerted on the sole holder in the case of a backward fall is applied for compression of the compression spring, provision is made for a compensating lever (13) to be arranged between the support plate (10) and the two bent levers (9), one arm of which compensating lever rests against the ends of the two bent levers (9) and the other arm of which compensating lever rests against the end of the bent lever (5). <IMAGE>
