Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Einstellen der Fahrgeschwindigkeit eines Kraftfahrzeugs mit einem Sollwertgeber, der mit einem Fahrpedal gekoppelt ist und mit einer Verstelleinrichtung, die vom Sollwertgeber steuerbar ist und die auf ein das Verhältnis des dem Kraftfahrzeugmotor zugeführten Kraftstoff-Luft-Gemisches beeinflussendes Element, vorzugsweise eine Motor-Drosselklappe, wirkt, ist zur Verminderung des Ruckelns des Kraftfahrzeugmotors beim Lastwechsel des Kraftfahrzeugmotors zwischen dem Sollwertgeber und der Verstelleinrichtung eine Lastwechseleinrichtung angeordnet, die bei einer Sollwertanderung, die einem Lastwechsel des Kraftfahrzeugmotors entspricht, das Element stufenweise und in den Stufen verzögert verstellt.
