The device has a pipeline (5) which has a valve with a valve body (3) at one end which can be moved from a starting position into an operating position, and an actuating device (4) acting on the valve body (3). The device is connected at a distance from this end of the pipeline to a liquid feed (2). To produce a high-pressure pulsed liquid jet without a separate high-pressure device, the liquid is suddenly retarded by the valve body (3) reaching its operating position to produce a liquid pressure surge at the end of the pipeline containing the valve. At least one jet opening (12) of smaller cross section than the pipeline cross section opens at the end of the pipeline having the valve and, at least in the operating position of the valve body (3) it is open in order to deliver the pulsed jet. Preferably, a passage opening (7) which is closed in the operating position of the valve body and is of greater cross section than the jet opening (12) is controlled by the valve body (3) and the end of the pipeline remote from the valve opens into an acoustically soft device (1) which reflects the pressure wave produced during the liquid pressure surge as a reducing wave. Vorrichtung zum Erzeugen eines Hochgeschwindigkeits-Flüssigkeitsimpulsstrahles, mit einer Rohrleitung (5), welche an dem einen Rohrleitungsende ein Ventil mit einem Ventilkörper (3), der aus einer Ausgangsstellung heraus in eine Betriebsstellung bewegbar ist, und einer an den Ventilkörper (3) angreifenden Stellvorrichtung (4) aufweist und im Abstand von diesem Rohrleitungsende an einem Flüssigkeitszulauf (2) angeschlossen ist. Zur Erzeugung des Hochdruck-Flüssigkeitsimpulsstrahles ohne gesonderte Hochdruckvorrichtung wird die Flüssigkeit an dem das Ventil enthaltenden Rohrleitungsende dadurch, daß der Ventilkörper (3) seine Betriebsstellung erreicht, unter Erzeugung eines Flüssigkeitsschlages plötzlich abgebremst, wobei an dem das Ventil aufweisenden Rohrleitungsende wenigstens eine Strahlöffnung (12) kleineren Querschnitts als der Rohrleitungsquerschnitt mündet, die wenigstens in der Betriebsstellung des Ventilkörpers (3) zum Ausgeben des Impulsstrahles offen ist. Vorzugsweise wird von dem Ventilkörper (3) (3) eine in der Betriebsstellung des Ventilkörpers geschlossene Durchflußöffnung (7) größeren Querschnitts als die Strahlöffnung (12) (12) beherrscht und mündet das dem Ventil abgewandte Rohrleitungsende in eine akustisch weiche, die bei dem Flüssigkeitsschlag erzeugte Druckwelle als Verdünnungswelle reflektierende Vorrichtung (1). Bevorzugt ist außerdem die Strahlöffnung (12) in der Ausgangsstellung des Ventilkörpers (3) abgesperrt.
