[origin: US4583435A] A machine for slicing slabs of cheese, sausage or the like comprises a feeding mechanism which supports the slab, feeds it intermittently at an inclination to the horizontal and includes a slab-supporting conveyor belt and gripping claws for holding the back of the slab. The conveyor belt runs over freely rotatable direction-changing rollers and on both sides of the conveyor belt parallel to the upper run thereof and displaceable above same the gripping claws are secured on parallel shafts which are provided with pivoting drives and are mounted in support members to be projectable above the upper run and retractable therefrom. The support members are provided with drives for stepwise advance with fast forward and reverse gears. A mechanism for catching the slices is disposed below the front end of the conveyor belt.

Eine Papiervorschubeinrichtung für eine Maschine zum Schneiden von Schneidgutriegeln, wie Käse- und Wurstriegel oder dergleichen, besitzt eine den Schneidgutriegel abstützende und intermittierend jeweilsum die Dicke der abgeschnittenen Scheiben voranbewegende Transporteinrichtung, die aus einem den Scheidgutriegel abstützenden Förderband und einer diesen haltenden Einrichtung besteht. Vor dem vorderen Ende der Förderbandes ist ein Kreismesser angeordnet, das mit einem dieses in Querrichtung verschiebenden Antrieb versehen ist. Damit in einfacher Weise das Einschieben von Trennzetteln zwischen die einzelnen gestapelten Schnittgutscheiben möglich ist, ist unterhalb des Förderbandes ein intermittierend angetriebenes Vorzugswalzenpaar (48, 51) für eine von einer Vorratsrolle (39) abgezogene Papierbahn (40) angeordnet, deren Vorschubbahn im Bereich der unteren Kante der Vorderseite des auf dem Förderband (11) liegenden Schneidgutriegels liegt.
