[origin: US4781248A] A heat exchanger comprising plates rotated by 180 DEG relative to one another and fastened into a stack is disclosed, in which the interstices between plates are supplied with the media via inlet and outlet openings at the corners of the plates and abut one another via projections from their profile, the profile including a middle, rectangular heat exchange zone and two adjoining triangular heat exchange zones. The profile of the triangular zones is formed by sections adjoining one another and having opposite embossing directions to form adjoining peaks and valleys, such that the sections of one embossing direction of one triangular zone abut the sections of the other embossing direction of the adjoining plates that are rotated by 180 DEG relative to the first, and between the rows of peaks and valleys are disposed flow channels connecting the plate openings with the rectangular heat exchange zone, the flow channels being adapted for communication with one another normal to the flow direction, by passage through the spacing of adjacent rays via channel segments.

Es wird ein Wärmeaustauscher aus gegeneinander um 180° gedreht zu einem Stapel gespannten Platten (3) angegeben, bei dem die Plattenzwischenräume über Zu- und Abströmöffnungen (4, 5, 6, 7) der Plattenecken mit den Medien beschickt werden und sich über ihre Profilierung gegeneinander abstützen, wobei die Profilierung einen mittleren, rechteckigen (18) und zwei daran anschließende dreieckförmige (16, 17) Wärmeaustauschbereiche bildet. Dabei ist die Profilierung der dreieckförmigen (16, 17) Bereiche durch sich aneinander anschließende Abschnitte gegenläufiger Prägungsrichtung gebildet, derart, daß sich die Abschnitte einer Prägungsrichtung des einen dreieckförmigen (16, 17) Bereiches gegen die Abschnitte der anderen Prägungsrichtung des anderen dreieckförmigen (16, 17) Bereiches der benachbarten, um 180° gedrehten Platten (3) abstützen, wobei zwischen den Abschnitten (22, 23) die Plattenöffnungen mit dem rechteckigen Wärmeaustauschbereich (18) verbindende, strahlenförmige Strömungskanäle gebildet sind, die quer zur Strömungsrichtung im Rhythmus der Teilung des Abstandes benachbarter Strahlen durch Kanalstücke miteinander verbunden sind.
